Tesla Consumption Monitoring
Remote Energy Meter / Neurio Meter:
Both need to have CTs placed utility/line side of interconnection and loads, or must include all branches for correct consumption readings - Max extension listed below, at 8.5m
The Neurio Remote Energy Meters are compatible with Backup Gateway 1, Backup Gateway 2, and Powerwall+.
The Tesla Remote Energy Meter is used for all other equipment: Backup Gateway 3, Backup Switch, Powerwall 3.
Install Configuration:
Ensure correct location of phases are used for CT placement, as seen in example on the right.
Incorrect phasing or location of CTs can lead to correlating data, incorrect home loads being read and inaccurate data.
Extending CT wires using non-Tesla extensions are not permitted
Only one remote meter per site can be connected over WiFi, rather than hardwired.
MCI Installation
Always ensure your design and installation teams are using the right MCI application relative to the equipment being installed.
Applications (methods) need to comply with specific Tesla manufacturer guidelines to maintain RSD compliance.
Methods vary. Please refer to the attached link for guidance depending on equipment your teams will be installing for any given system.
Enphase Consumption Monitoring
Only L1 PV branch circuit conductors should be run through Production CT.
Enphase has two CT configuration types: Load with Solar & Load Only.
NOTE - Load Only config CANNOT be used with Battery storage installations.
Device arrows point towards the home electrical loads
“Load with Solar” configuration.
CT devices are upstream of PV backfeed interconnection point.
