All Installers are required by the DOE to provide all beneficiaries with educational information about their system and provide proof to confirm that the beneficiary received it.

Step 1. During M1:

  • Generate proposal. Generate a proposal for the beneficiary in Aurora using the special template created for this program. Reach out to your relationship manager for guidance if needed, or Aurora support for troubleshooting.

  • Educate beneficiary. Review the proposal and beneficiary information packet with the beneficiary prior to them signing the contract

  • Upload proposal. Upload a copy of the proposal document to the LightReach portal following standard naming convention of SIF000XXXX_Proposal and Document Upload Procedure

Step 2. Prior to Installation:

  • Email educational docs. Email the beneficiary a copy of the design and the proposal PDF using the following required subject line:

    • Subject: Beneficiary Acceptance of Design and Education Documents

  • Educate beneficiary. Follow up with the beneficiary to ensure that all of their questions have been answered, particularly about any design details, critical loads being backed up, actions required to be taken in an outage such as conserving energy.

  • Beneficiary acceptance. Beneficiary responds that they agree.

  • Screenshot email. When the beneficiary responds that they approve, screenshot their response with the subject line visible

  • Upload email screenshot. Upload the screenshot to the LightReach portal using the Document Upload Procedure

What happens if the beneficiary passes away?

In order for the lease agreement to pass on to another individual, they would need to also qualify for the program per government regulations. Please escalate to installer leadership in these cases.
